There are several excellent movies to download through popular resources like FilmyGod, but not every film is available on there, particularly many options from this year. Now, with the summer movie season officially underway, there are some fantastic movies that are well worth tracking down online.
Of course, viewing old classics appeals too, especially given the huge array of iconic productions we have been treated to over the years. For example, past classics, such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, will always be fondly remembered by millions. The movie is so iconic that it even has an Ace Ventura online slot title named after it, too. But it’s the new movies people really want to see on the whole, particularly as many have created a lot of hype in the last few months or so. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the best movies of the year so far.
Top Gun: Maverick
Even if you aren’t a fan of the 1986 original, Top Gun: Maverick is a must-watch movie. A sequel to a movie that was first released over 30 years ago, it serves up the same dose of chaotic action that is synonymous with many of Tom Cruise’s most memorable productions. While the debate will rumble on as to whether or not Top Gun: Maverick beats the original, it’s still good enough to dedicate a few hours of your time to.
True Things
Love stories tend to make for a good watch, particularly if it’s a creation that offers a powerful message that some viewers can relate to. While True Things might go against the grain a bit, it does offer an intriguing glimpse into life for some people. Featuring a disinterested benefits-office clerk who meets a dangerously seductive character played by Tom Burke, True Things is a thought-provoking love story. In order to truly appreciate it, and without giving away any spoilers, you most definitely have to check it out for yourself.
Ahed’s Knee
Featuring the story of a filmmaker from the Israeli city of Tel Aviv who travels out to a remote desert village to showcase his latest movie production, Ahed’s Knee is a great film. When the filmmaker arrives, he is greeted by a lady who works for the Ministry of Culture, something that he eventually realises is an issue. She advises him to remove anything controversial from the movie, resulting in protest and a wave of emotions. Ahed’s Knee is a great movie that focusses on the limits of artistic freedom in certain territories.
Jackass Forever
Despite having an increasing amount of grey hairs and a selection of niggling injuries, the Jackass boys have returned with another dose of sadistic cinema. While Jackass Forever is probably an acquired taste, it’s a blast to watch if you fancy watching general silliness for an hour or so. Offering an array of daredevil stunts and some cringe-worthy classics, Jackass Forever is well worth seeing, particularly if you’ve enjoyed Jackass movies before.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
If you’re partial to the odd bit of Marvel, then you simply have to watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Directed by the man behind Evil Dead and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy of films, Sam Raimi, this movie has it all. From zombies flying around to angry minotaurs, Doctor Strange has a lot to overcome in this particular production. Out of Marvel’s catalogue of movies it certainly isn’t up there with the best of them, though, but that’s not exactly easy, is it? Overall, the latest instalment of Doctor Strange is excellent.
